Hey, folks.

Yep, exactly what we warned everyone about this spring came to pass yesterday afternoon: Ontario’s revised Health and Physical Education curriculum has been shelved, and we have been informed we’ll be teaching from the one last updated in 1998 (2000 for grades 9-12, but the focus, as always is on the Grade 1-8 document). That is, at least, until the government has more time to do parent consultation and revision (because the 4000 parents consulted for the 2015 version were apparently not the right kind of parent?).

If you scroll through my blog, you can find the 2015 documents, but I’ve been remiss at adding the previous government’s fact sheets on the changes. That’s what this post is for.

Below, you’ll find the documents that explain the actual content of the 2015 revised documents for parents and community members in the following languages: Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Farsi, French, Korean, Polish, Punjabi, Somali, and Urdu. Please ensure these are spread widely through your communities so that parents and neighbours know and understand the 2015 version, and understand that there was nothing threatening or inappropriate in its content.
